The Kentish Dragon was the first blend we created, and it packs a punch with its high caffeine content from the robusta beans sourced from Vietnam, combined with the arabica beans from Ethiopia. This blend offers a delightful smoky taste with a hint of sweetness, and the Ethiopian beans can provide a sense of jasmine flower in the aftertaste. The body of the coffee has a pleasant edge, with mild acidity that balances the flavor profile.
It's worth noting that 95% of the coffee beans from Vietnam are of the Robusta variety, which is known for its high caffeine content and bitter taste. This type of coffee can be grown at lower altitudes and in hotter climates. On the other hand, the Ethiopian coffee in this blend offers a contrasting effect with its lower acidity and is grown at altitudes ranging from 4400 to 6000 meters above sea level in a vast catchment area of Ethiopia, producing around 60,000 tons of coffee each year.
